There is a growing interest in audiovisual (AV) performance and composition. New festivals, publications and conferences, for example, have been established in this field in the last years. However, we would like to enquire if the tools for AV performance and composition have caught up with the growing interest and practices in the field. In particular, we would like to explore issues such as audience involvement, interaction design, ease of use, and computer-generated audiovisuals in these tools.
To address these issues, we are organizing a workshop on the topic of Interactive Computer-Generated Audiovisuals. During the workshop, we will design sketches of a tool for audiovisual performance. Participation in the workshop is free of charge. The workshop will take place on 18th October 2014, from 11am to 6pm, at the Goldsmiths Digital Studios (http://www.gold.ac.uk/gds/), at Goldsmiths, University of London. It will be conducted by Nuno Correia (http://eavi.goldsmithsdigital.com/staff/dr-nuno-correia/), in collaboration with Video Hackspace (http://www.videohackspace.com).
The workshop will have the following structure:
1. introduction and initial discussion;
2. scenario building and discussion;
3. brainstorming and sketching;
4. sketches presentation; and
5. discussion on further developments and feedback on the workshop.
If you are interested, please register for the workshop here, until 11th October:
